What is vegetable-tanned leather?

Vegetable-tanned leather is a type of leather that is tanned using natural materials such as tree bark or other organic materials. This process is far more environmentally friendly than other tanning methods, which often use harsh chemicals.

Due to the long, slow traditional techniques used to process the hides for this type of leather, vegetable-tanned products are known for their durability and unique character. Plus, over time, it develops a rich patina that adds to its beauty. If only we could all age that gracefully!

Our Factory Visit

During our visit to the Tempesti factory in Italy earlier this year, we were fascinated by the entire process of tanning and preparing the leather that goes into creating our beautiful dog accessories back in the UK.

It was an incredible experience to witness firsthand the meticulous attention to detail that goes into every step of the process, and we are proud to offer our customers only the very best in quality and craftsmanship.
